Like the technical community as a whole, the EteSync team and community is made up of people from all over the world, working on every aspect of the mission - including mentorship, teaching, and connecting people.

Diversity is one of our huge strengths, but it can also lead to communication issues and unhappiness. To that end, we have a few ground rules that we ask people to adhere to. This code applies equally to founders, mentors and those seeking help and guidance.

This isn't intended as a list of things that you can't do, but rather take it in the spirit in which it's intended - a guide to make it easier to enrich all of us and the technical communities in which we participate.

One of EteSync's core values is freedom of speech and preventing censorship, and therefore this code is not intended, and shall never be used to silence views and opinions. It's only here to make sure we all adhere to the same standard of civility.

This code of conduct applies to all spaces run by EteSync. This includes IRC, the mailing lists, the issue tracker, events, and any other forums created or that will be created by the project team which the community uses for communication. In addition to other channels where violations are directed at members of the community such as harassing a member of the community by direct mail. It does not however apply to how people orchestrate themselves outside the scope of EteSync where they are free to engage in whatever behaviour they choose.

If you believe someone is violating the code of conduct, we ask that you report it by emailing conduct@etesync.com.

The Guidelines

This code of conduct was originally based on the Django project's CoC.
